St. David's Day Twmpath
This year Menter Caerffili’s St. David’s Day Twmpath was held at a new location, namely The Greenfly, in Bedwas. Over 80 people came to the event from all over the world: Malta, New Zeland & America.

The room with it’s large dancefloor was a perfect size. The tickets were a bargain at £5 each which included two way transport, entry to the twmpath and a variety of cheese, bread and biscuits.

Dawnswyr Nantgarw supplied the entertainment, and started the eveing with several traditional folk dances, then everyone had the chance to twmpath. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, and we also got to hear the name and history of each dance.

The break allowed people to catch their breath, and enjoy all sorts of cheese, including Caerphilly (of course), Welsh cheddar, brie and others, before returning to the dancing.

Many thanks to everyone who purchased tickets. It was especially nice to see so many new faces.

Trip to Aberystwyth
We enjoyed a day of sunshine and ice cream last week in Aberystwyth. We went on a guided tour of the national library where we saw some of the oldest Welsh manuscripts and original paintings by Kyffin Williams, as well as seeing how the Library stores the millions of old books, maps, paintings and photographs which are kept there. After visiting the Library, we had time to explore the town and its shops before going to Aberaeron on the way home for ice cream. Thanks to ‘Phil The Bus’ for driving all that way, to Emyr for leading the tour of the Library, and to everyone who came for their company!
