| Menter
Caerffili was established to raise the profile of the Welsh
language across the county in every aspect of the community
life. Menter Caerffili is promoting the use of the Welsh language
by working in partnership with societies, establishments,
business, learners, youth and schools in the area. The purpose
of the Menter Iaith is to increase the opportunities for people
in the area to use the Welsh language in a variety of ways.
The
Welsh language Act 1993 ensures that Welsh is treated on the
basis of equality with English in the public sector. Although
there are no requirements for the private sector to offer
bilingual services, there is an increasing demand for a bilingual
service in the private sector.

Menter
Caerffili can help your organization to introduce a bilingual
service using simple and realistic methods, with little or
no cost. Your organization will not have to change everything,
but will look for opportunities to introduce a bilingual service
gradually. A small change will bring many benefits, and even
if your staff are not fluent or have very little knowledge
of the Welsh language, customers will appreciate your effort.
The
benefits to your company will be to generate good will and
loyalty among your present customers, and creating a unique
selling point as a marketing tool to attract new customers.
Research shows that Welsh speakers would rather do business
with organisations that offer a bilingual service.
Menter
Caerffili is prepared to give free publicity to organisations
that do or will be offering a bilingual service. Menter Caerffili
will provide free training courses etc to organisations using
and providing bilingual services.
Menter
Caerffili does not ask for anything in return. The Welsh Language
Board and Caerphilly County Borough Council funds Menter Caerffili.
Menter Caerffili would like to provide opportunities for people
of all ages to socialize and conduct business through the
medium of Welsh. |
